Little Mix is one of my all time favorite groups! They performed many of my favorites including Salute, Black Magic, Shoutout to my Ex, and their latest Touch!

Ariana Grande’s entire set was just amazing. She performed many of my favorites including Be Alright, Problem, Everyday, Love Me Harder, Side to Side, and so much more! She is definitely one of the most talented in the industry right now. Check out these photos below:

Pirates of the Caribbean 50th Anniversary

“Dead men tell no tales”

What comes to mind when you first here this? Yes, Pirates of the Caribbean! There’s nothing like making your way into New Orleans and entering Pirates of the Caribbean hearing the parrot speak, feeling that cool air breeze, watching the boats sail on by and smelling that smell in the air.. you know what smell I’m talking about.

Today marks the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction! It debuted on March 18, 1967 and since then has had over 400 million guests from all over the world! Pirates of the Caribbean was the last attraction at Disneyland that Walt Disney was personally involved with. It was worked on by Walt Disney Imagineers (originally called WED Enterprises). The attraction also inspired the highly popular Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise.

Besides its original home at Disneyland in Anaheim, this beloved attraction can be experienced at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Shanghai Disneyland.

Now let’s get started on some fun facts:

On an episode of “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color” called “Disneyland 10th Anniversary”, Walt Disney shows models, drawings, and plans of the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean attraction with Disneyland ambassador Julie Reihm.

As you board the boat and set sail, you’ll see on the right the Blue Bayou Restaurant which is a popular restaurant in New Orleans Square. The diners are able to see the passing boats go by. This is the only restaurant connected to a dark ride attraction at Disneyland.

There are approximately 120 animated audio-animatronics (humans plus 9 animals) that appear in Pirates of the Caribbean.

The ride is nearly 15 minutes long, one of the longest rides at the Disneyland resort. Guests ride through the attraction in a 1,838ft canal. The ride can take about 2,300-2,400 guests in an hour.

Ye come seekin’ adventure and salty old pirates, eh?

Disney Imagineer, X. Atencio, wrote the memorable tune, “Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate’s Life for Me,” which is the theme to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. He also provides the voice of the Jolly Roger skull and crossbones, which is the talking skull you see just before you head down the waterfall. Check out what other projects he worked on another one of my posts here. 1

On June 28, 2003, Disneyland held a premiere for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. On June 24, 2006 Disneyland held a premiere for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. It re-opened after being under refurbishment for some time. The characters from the films were added to the attraction. Disney 365 aired an episode of the premiere in 2006, with stars including tons of Disney Channel stars, walking down “the world’s longest red carpet”. The episode featured footage of Johnny Depp on the attraction and checking out his own animatronic. On May 25, 2007 “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” opens in theaters. Disneyland’s Tom Sawyer Island re-opened as Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island the same year. On May 11, 2011 Disneyland held a premiere of “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”.

Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barobossa can be seen in the attraction. Davy Jones can be seen on a waterfall mist. Captain Jack Sparrow can be seen three times.

Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack

If you can’t wait until March 17th for “Beauty and the Beast” to release then you can listen to the full soundtrack now! It’s available for purchase on iTunes (regular edition or deluxe edition) and available for streaming on Apple Music and Spotify. You can also listen to the entire soundtrack on Disney Music’s VEVO channel on YouTube here.

I only listened to a couple tracks off of the soundtrack but so far what I’ve heard, it is absolutely beautiful! I am saving the rest until after I see the movie. The renditions of the familiar classic songs such as “Belle“, “Be Our Guest“, and “Gaston” are great. Emma Watson has a gorgeous voice, she is the perfect fit as Belle. I must say I love the Overture which is the opening track. Alan Menken is a Disney God! Another song I like is a new original “How Does a Moment Last Forever” by Celine Dion. There’s no words to describe it but simply beautiful. I am very excited to listen to the rest of the album.. I am a huge lover of movie music, especially scores! Watch my tweets when I do tweet about the rest of the soundtrack.

If you are huge lover of the music to the original Beauty and the Beast, I’m sure that this soundtrack will not disappoint! Now I’m REALLY ready for the movie now!

Also, if you haven’t seen Ariana Grande and John Legend’s music video for “Beauty and the Beast” which premiered on Freeform earlier this week, watch it down below. I think it is an absolute gorgeous modern rendition. The music video is visually stunning and we also get a glimpse of what the classic ballroom scene will look like.

What are your thoughts on the soundtrack and/or music video?

2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Last night was the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards at the Forum in Los Angeles! The show recognizes the most popular artists and music from the iHeartRadio app and radio stations. This was the third annual show and probably the best yet. My top favorite performances was Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill”, The Chainsmokers “Paris” and “Something Just Like This” with special guest Coldplay, Shawn Mendes “Mercy” AND……. of course I can’t forget.. Bruno Mars’ performance of “Treasure” and “That’s What I Like”. (Total throwback with the Treasure mashup.. am I right?!)

The reason why the iHeartRadio Music Awards was extra special this year was not only Bruno performing.. he was also awarded with the Innovator Award. The Innovator Award is the biggest award of the night and honors the artist on their accomplishments in the industry. For him to receive that award is a huge deal. It was a little emotional because I’ve seen him grow, over the last 7 years, into the artist he is today and it was just overwhelming! No doubt I am proud of his achievements and all that he has done. Just like he said.. we’re just getting started! So that whole moment was obviously my favorite moment of the night.

Beauty & the Beast trivia

Hi everyone! I thought it’d be awesome to do a quick blog post on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in honor of the live action releasing on March 17th.. less than 2 weeks away! So, I’ll be sharing some quick trivia on the original Beauty and the Beast movie that released in 1991.

Beauty and the Beast (2017) theatrical poster

To start off, Walt Disney wanted to create an animated movie of the story of Beauty and the Beast in the 1930’s but didn’t know how to tell it exactly. So it was put off for many years but was eventually created.

Belle is the first princess to not be saved by a prince. Instead, she saves the beast herself. He then transforms into a prince and therefore created her happily ever after ending. Belle was also the second princess that didn’t start off as royalty. The first was Cinderella, then Belle, and then years later, Tiana from Princess and the Frog.

Belle is also the only person seen who wears blue in her town. This is to show that she is different than the rest. You’ll also notice that the Beast wears blue in the ballroom scene (he also has blue eyes!), this is done to create the idea that Belle not only is different but that they are meant to be.

Have you ever spotted Belle in another Disney movie? She made a quick cameo appearance in Disney’s 1996 classic The Hunchback of Notre Dame. You’ll spot her in the scene where Quasimodo is singing “Out There” while he looks down on the town below. You’ll also spot the Magic Carpet from Aladdin.

Have you ever noticed the signs that Maurice was looking at when he was lost? If you carefully look, the bottom says Anaheim, the city where the original Disneyland is located.

The song “Be Out Guest” was originally supposed to be sung to Maurice when he first enters the castle. Not completely satisfied, they switched it over to be Belle instead of Maurice. I think it was a much better fit because the song and scene are so dynamic and unforgettable that it would make sense to sing to the main character who perhaps might break the spell! 😉

Towards the end of the movie after Gaston stabs the Beast and is knocked off the castle, have you noticed Gaston’s eyes? As he’s falling, white skulls appear in his eyes for a quick second symbolizing that he will die.

During the finale of the movie when Belle and the prince dancing in the ballroom, this dance may look familiar. Disney reused the animation of Aurora and Prince Phillip’s dance from Sleeping Beauty. When you get a chance, watch their dances side by side. Pretty cool!

I hope you enjoyed this little Beauty & the Beast trivia! Now who’s ready for the live action? Be sure to check it out in theaters on Friday, March 17th!

All photos belong to Disney.
